Reppushou - Gale Wind Palm
Rank: C
Range: Close (0m ~ 5m), Mid (5m ~ 10m)
Type: Attack, Supplementary
Reppushou is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Wind Element. After forming the needed hand seals, Nagato will send a strong gust of wind towards his target. When acting in conjunction with another thrown weapon, the wind can increase its power and deadliness.

Daichi stood in the center of a large ring of stones, his red eyes trained up at their sharp peaks. The sun glinted off one of them, partially hidden behind the point at the top of the stone. His eyes narrowed, but he did not look away. Its harsh light continued to shine into his eyes, leaving a dark spot in his vision.

Finally, he looked away, focusing his attention down on his hands. Forming several hand signs, he took a deep breath and slowly let it out. A tiny breeze came from his hands, not even reaching the stone in front of him.

Growling, he cursed under his breath and formed the hand signs again. He called up his chakra and this time, there was a more powerful breeze that came from his hands. However, he was still not satisfied when he looked at the tiny indent that it had made in the rock. If he wanted to gain the respect of everyone, he’d need to become more powerful than this.

Once again, he formed the hand signs, but then he noticed that were was a large adder that was slowly sliding towards him across the sand. He stayed perfectly still, not even breathing to let out another huge gust of air. The adder came ever closer, its yellow eyes staring up at Daichi. It stopped and its tounge flicked out, tasting the air.

It let out a soft hiss, but Daichi still didn’t move. His mind was completely focused on the snake… his lunch. The adder hissed again and poised to strike when Daichi unleashed his torrent of air from his hands. It slammed into the snake, breaking its neck to kill it instantly.

Nodding to himself, he walked over to the body of the dead snake and picked it up. Pocketing it, he headed off to his cave to make lunch.

*Time skip: 1 day*

He walked back to the ring of stones, his stomach full of food from his early morning breakfast. The sun was just starting to peak over the horizon, spilling light up into the gray sky.

Standing in the between the stones, he took a deep breath and let it out, sighing softly. More training. His arms ached from yesterday, but he had to ignore them. The only way to gain respect was to be strong. After the incident with Kirin, he could not afford to be lazy or off-guard.

Bringing his hands up to his face, he made the correct signs and sucked in his breath. He held it in for just a second and breathed into his hands, a huge gust of air shooting out from his clasped hands. The gust smashed into the rock, leaving another jagged gash across its black surface.

He sighed and pulled out one of his fans, Anzen. If he used Aizu or Gouka, he was afraid that the paper leaf would break on one of them. Anzen Garyuu on the other hand, was made of metal and much more durable. And besides, Anzen was Daichi’s favorite…

Folding up Anzen, he placed his fan in one hand. He made his hand signs with Anzen in between and breathed into his hands. However, it didn’t create a huge gust of wind or anything… In fact, nothing happened.

Daichi sighed and flung Anzen at one of the rocks in disappointment. But suddenly, Anzen went haywire and started to fly all over the place. Surprised, Daichi ducked as it spun back at him, colliding with one of the stones behind him. It dropped to the ground and lay still.

Glancing around, Daichi slowly got up and picked up Anzen. What was that? he asked himself. He turned Anzen over, inspecting it. There wasn’t a dent on it, no repairs to the frame or the edge of the leaf that needed to be made.

Did… did Anzen infuse with my chakra? Is that why I couldn’t unleash a strong wind?

He looked down at Anzen and thought, Might as well try it… but first, I need to get my chakra under control…

Sitting down, he set Anzen down on the sand and closed his eyes. He calmed his mind, thinking through every step of what his mother had called The Dance of the Crane. It was an ancient folk dance that his family had used for centuries to quiet their minds so they could meditate. It focused their minds on something very complicated, giving them a feeling of absolute resolve and peace.

As he thought through the final steps, he opened his eyes and picked up Anzen again. Standing, he once more did the correct hand signs and blew into his clasped hands. Then, he softly directed Anzen at one of the stones, watching it as the chakra sped up the metal fan in its flight. It struck the stone, cutting a deep gash in it and flew back to Daichi.

Reaching up, he tried to catch it, but the metal blade cut through his palm before he could grip it. Once again, it hit the stone behind him and fell to the ground. He watched several drops of blood fall onto the sand, but ignored it and picked up Anzen.

Might want to get this cleaned up before I continue, he thought. I don’t want to get an infection.

Sighing, he headed back to his cave to bandage up his hand.
